Neufchateau, France May 1, 1919

Dear Folks:
This is the first day of May - can you beat it? We are going to start home this month. Well, we have been waiting a long time to go but we can't kick as we didn't get over here until late and Grant is still alive and healthy.

We are here at Neufchateau and will be here at least two or three days. Have a splendid place to stay here. Nice bunks, regular tables, dishes and good eats.

We won't be here but two more days and then we don't know just when we are to go.

Know that we will be called in within a very few days. Our 88th men who are down at Beauvene at that great American University have all been called in and the men on leave have been called in and our Division Entertainment office closes next week. We expect to be out on the road for two weeks yet and then to leave for the states. It will surely be fine to get on the water and know that every minute brings us nearer home.

It has been a wonderful experience over here but I wouldn't go through it again for a whole lot. I am done with Army life after this session.

Keep on writing through as the mail will be stopped when we start so I will get it anyway.

Am feeling fine and will get home in good shape.

Cliff and I are going downtown. I want to go over to the Commissary and see if I can't trade my rain coat for a good one.

He is ready to go so I will take this down and mail it.
Grant
